Kukicha tea
Kukicha tea may not be an adaptogen, but it also has some pretty impressive health benefits.
PROPERTIES
Kukicha is made from the stems of three-year-old tea plants. ’Kuki’ means stem and ‘cha’ means tea in Japanese. It has lots of the same benefits as green tea: it’s macrobiotic, alkalising and has a high calcium content, but because it’s brewed from stems it has more of the relaxing compound L-Theanine, and less caffeine, which is extracted mostly from leaves.
ORIGIN
Our Kukicha is grown in the Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan, known for its tropical climate, volcanoes and hot springs.
